Monkeys

I’ve sat in the shadows,

watching,

trying to love you,

and I do,

more than you know,

but,

your ignorance,

your rage,

your selfishness,

your vanity,

your hedonism,

I find simultaneously perplexing

and

intensely intriguing,

and ultimately,

repugnant.
