Brown Bird XXXVII

The full color bloom is done. I assumed I’d feel better, and I do. But, now it’s done, and you’re still gone. There’s no more work to be done, no one left to call, nothing left to clean, no one to pick up arrangements. It’s just quiet, and the longer the quiet stretched, the louder the storm became—and the more violent—until the lightning crashed around us.
